Seven Emirates in Three Days

We decided to go to Fujairah, on the East Coast of the UAE, and spent one night at the Miramar Beach Resort in Al Aqah, which was amazing.  Mountains, beautiful pool, date palms, the Gulf of Oman, playing in the waves, nice food, good breakfast buffet, balcony overlooking the beach.  all on sale, due to Ramadan, and the hot weather.

Lobby of the Miramar.

This was the view from our balcony, above.

Dinner at Asian restaurant in hotel.  H and G drank tea and did very well with the choices.

More tea at the breakfast buffet.  These hotel buffets are amazing - Lebanese, Indian, Western.

We then went across the peninsula to Ras al Khaimah, on the Arabian (Persian) Gulf side of the UAE.  Hotter, more humid.  The Gulf is shallow, salty, warm, so that swimming in the summer is not that refreshing.  The pool at Al Hamra Palace Hotel was not cooled, which made Henry very upset.  It was too hot to be out there.  Beautiful building, but not finished.  Lots of Russian visitors.  We preferred the Gulf of Oman and the Miramar!

This is sweating in Ras al Khaimah and no way to cool down.  Pool was hot, sea was hot, sand was hot, air was hot.  oh well.  that's what you get for coming to the Arabian/Persian Gulf in the summer.

 The building was beautiful, though.

Nice balcony. Just so humid, you could feel it through the windows!

The Gulf, from the air conditioned car.

Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road.  Skyscrapers and speed.

Ski Dubai in the Mall of the Emirates, on our way home.

Mosque in Ajman, I think.

Thinking of the Miramar in Fujairah.....
