We went to Green Mubuzzarah the other weekend. It's a park near Al Ain which is at the foot of the mountain, Jebel Hefeet, and where there are hot springs. I like hot water of all sorts - tea, hot baths, steam rooms, jacuzzis. I am not sure why. Anyway, this discovery was great. We only put our feet in, but apparently you can go in up to your neck, and there is also an indoor spa/pool area. We went to a little girl's birthday party.
That's the water. See the lights going up the mountain in the background? That's the road up to the top, where there is also a hotel.
Painting on the way, of Sheikh Zayed, the late founder of the country.
This is his son, the current leader of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa. His brother, Sheikh Mohammed, is the Crown Prince. The succession seems to go to brothers first, not necessarily to the eldest son. The tribe of brothers choses the best leader, apparently. I guess if you run out of brothers, you have to go to the next generation. I understand that this will have to happen eventually in Saudi Arabia, where they are on the 5th or 6th son of ibn Saud (Abdul Aziz), but they are all in their 70s or 80s now.
