We are having a day off for the Prophet Mohammed's birthday, Jan 24, which is very nice. Charles and I went swimming, then had a coffee, did the shopping, sat outside with candles and played Sorry with G and H. Nice day off. At my school, the Arabic teacher did a little presentation yesterday for the birthday - songs and the children recited things about Mohammed. At least, I think so.
Charles and I started Arabic lessons last week for 10 weeks (twice a week) with a Lebanese teacher in town at his house. He was very interesting and we think we'll like it alot.
We had hoped to go to Egypt this April, but think we will wait to do it right and save up. It involves an internal flight to Luxor from Cairo and it all adds up. Maybe we'll go to Muscat for a night or two (driving). At least the idea has encouraged G to read up on the pyramids.
